Undaunted. On a straight course. Unique.
In the model year 2016 the G-Class stays again true to its values. Its compactness, ground clearance and robust offroad capability are legendary; its design is unique. More efficient and powerful engines and improved suspension are new. The exterior and interior have also been given an upgrade. At the same time, an exclusive AMG special edition will be available. TheMercedes-Benz classic offroader is beginning a new chapter of its success story which spans more than 35 years. With its continuously improved technology and high-class equipment specification, this cult all-terrain vehicle has consistently satisfied the highest expectations of its offroad fans.
Maximum performance. On- and offroad.
Also retained is the unrivalled offroad performance with permanent all-wheel drive, low-range gearbox and three differential locks that can be engaged/disengaged while on the move. Whatever lies ahead of it, the G-Class is a pioneer. Its terrain starts where others give up. Even with hundred percent gradients, 54 percent tilt and up to 60 centimetres of water, nothing stops it. As is typical of the G-Class, the new models retain the familiar sturdy basis of the body and ladder-type frame, which still offers generous reserves to cope with the increased power.
Optimised suspension.
The G-Class ventures into the deepest abysses of the metropolis. Undaunted, on a straight course, and always at the fore. Thanks to more advanced engines and optimised suspension, its performance is even more impressive. The standard suspension setup has been revised with optimised shock absorbers. The result is improved control of body movement and even greater onroad ride comfort.
An adapted ESP setup makes for enhanced driving dynamics together with increased driving stability and road safety. Optimisations to ASR and ABS result in improved traction while shortening the stopping distance when braking.
