1st I've heard of the Chevrolet Sports Department, it's inception began in April 1968, and it ran up to 1976 during the Olympics. Also, I've never heard of the Sports Recreation Department, both were marketing phrases more than they were outfits at GM.

Here are all the pages of the 1969 Chevrolet Sports Department brochure: http://vintagecarsamerica.com/p/503/vintage-cars-chevrolet-brochures-1969-sports-department-sc-64/ The Ford marketing was known as the Performance Clinic, and the Dodge and Plymouth marketing was the Scat Pack Club and the Rapid Transit System, but until today, I don't think I'd ever heard of the Chevrolet Sports Department  http://www.thejumpingfrog.com/?page=shop/flypage&product_id=1419443 http://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?s=733a1a780625e259db09c84553674542&t=106655&page=2 http://www.hotrod.com/articles/super-rare-supercar-1969-chevrolet-camaro-ss396-sports-375-hp-champagne-metallic-paint/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/stiffspeed/permalink/1418730724940206/ https://azure.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/NOS-1969-Chevrolet-Showroom-poster-featuring-the-Sports-Department-Corvette-and-Camaro-163264 http://www.sportssrc.com/sports/chevrolet-sports-department-sign-fe0fd3.html htt...

Someone in Michigan is a legislator that finally figured out that license plates and tow hitch balls have an inherent conflicting location

A bill has been approved by the Michigan legislature to allow for the attachment of a tow ball, bicycle rack, removable hitch or any other device designed to carry an object on the rear of a vehicle even if it obstructs the rear license plate. https://www.sema.org/sema-enews/2018/19/michigan-bill-to-ease-towing-restrictions-sent-to-governor

Terrible news from India highlights what a deplorable condition some countries are in due to lack of honest merchants

Don't drink anything that isn't in a sealed container from a manufacturer... and be careful what you eat, too. Indian tea seller caught using water from train toilet. Enough said? But, keep in mind, a middle school student making a science fair project found that in American fast food restaurants, many ice machines were more contaminated with E-Coli than the water in the toilets.   https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/OnCall/story?id=1641825&page=1 This incident follows recent scandal in the eastern city of Kolkata, famed for its Bengal delicacies, police this week unearthed a racket in which 20 tonnes of rotten meat from dumps was being sold to restaurants. Police suspect a lot more had been sent out to city restaurants. Still want to travel the world? Bring some dehydrated K rations. Or, wind up finding out what the local hospital care is like. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/03/indian-tea-seller-caught-using-water-from-train-toilet

For the DIY air conditioning recharging concepts... using propane, this is the first I've heard of it

Image
As it seems that switching an old AC system compressors and hoses out to a R134 system is costly, people with smarts looked around, and discovered that only in the North American continent are we restricted by federal laws as to what is in our airconditioning... But, since we don't pay attention to most federal laws anyway (speeding, magazine capacity, copying movies) why bother wasting a paycheck for a conversion to something you don't want, when some other countries have been using hydrocarbon refrigerants extensively with few to no problems? http://www.possumliving.com/2012/08/propane-refrigerant-for-automotive-air.html

$109 spark plug wire. GTFO here with that

instead of wasting days watching the full races, skip that waste of time. It's far more satisfying to just catch the "best of" clips

Now this is some rock climbing!

yes, the pictures are out of chronological order. The top one is more than twice the size, and catches more attention. https://pig347.tumblr.com/
